Zilai and Yeping were integral members of the "Smart Security Robot" initiative, orchestrated by the faculty of engineering, which secured the esteemed first-runner-up award. Their collaborative efforts epitomized groundbreaking interdisciplinary cooperation. Tasked with developing automated tools for detecting anomalies in emergency scenarios, they harnessed state-of-the-art technologies like speech recognition, sound localization, and thermal video detection systems. Despite grappling with challenges such as technical glitches in TensorFlow Lite and spatial constraints on the robot, Zilai and Yeping spearheaded innovative solutions, overcoming compatibility issues and adopting space-saving techniques gleaned from Mechanical Engineering peers. Through unwavering dedication and nocturnal experimentation, they achieved seamless integration. This project not only honed their technical prowess in areas like deep learning and Raspberry Pi board inference but also emphasized the importance of practical application and effective teamwork amidst stringent deadlines, showcasing their ability to tackle multifaceted challenges with collaborative problem-solving strategies.
