Description

Driven by curiosity and a desire for practical sustainability, Jun LIM, Sam SHIM, and Seong Bin CHO launched “Smart Meters, Smart Savings,” installing smart meters in hotel rooms to visualize energy use. They saw an opportunity to advance ESG in hospitality by adapting proven technology. With Dr. Emily Chen’s mentorship and Hotel ICON’s support, they tackled challenges such as collecting real hotel data and making technical information accessible. Their teamwork and time management paid off, earning them first place at the 2025 Global ESG Conference Idea Competition.
