Description

“Return to Antiquity” is Scott QU's tribute to ancient life, using charcoal powder to depict dinosaur skeletons with clarity and emotion. Living in Liaoning, China, Scott’s fascination with fossils grew through museum visits and field observations. Influenced by Zhao Chuang and Professor Yang Wei, he developed a style that balances scientific detail with artistic restraint. Scott faced challenges in technique and time management, experimenting with charcoal to achieve the right textures and dedicating weekly sessions to his craft. His painting was exhibited in Paris and collected by a French gallerist, earning praise and support from PolyU. The project taught Scott to communicate complex ideas visually, bridging cultures and inspiring respect for our natural heritage through art.
