IoT: Indoor Temperature Regulator

Mr Leung Chun Hin Declan, shares how he designs his first tailor-made application on (Internet of Things) IoT - hardware - A temperature regulator with real time temperature sensor. He had not only learned the essentials of being a professional programmer as “Smart home” requires the connection between data networking and home appliance devices, but he had also put efforts to take his leading role in his IoT team project.

Through participating in iSpace, he has learned that leadership is not about rank or having higher authority or power. It is about being responsible, understanding my teammates' concerns, and reaching an informed consensus before implementing designs.

Teamwork
"I find that I have a strong interest in IoT. Throughout the whole IoT project, I need to cooperate with students from diverse departments. And I like working with them since I could have an opportunity to learn Interior Design, Building Management, plus Electronic Engineering from them."

Professional Competence
"I have gained sufficient understanding about IoT concepts and credible experiences of IoT implementation, which further sharpens my edge in hardware application programming. Programming is critical in our project since "Smart Home" requires connections between home appliance devices and data networks."

Leadership
"Project Leadership & Programming Skills are the things that I have learned in my own bachelor degree, which have been used in this project. Cooperating with persons from different backgrounds requires a high level of communication skills, I need to understand my teammates' concern and have a consensus before implementing our project prototype design"
